The Alpha Mu Chapter of Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority Incorporated was founded upon the principles of sisterhood and dedication to the community. Founding sisters Yaribeth Vega and Nicole Romeu believed in looking further than what was conveniently located within the Tampa Bay area to truly represent what they stood for. In the Summer of 2004, this belief was put into existence and has since filled the hearts of many independent women.

It was a long hard road every step of the way for this chapter since we were not a part of an established council at a university. The continuing dream was to prove the masses wrong with a powerful message of positive success. After years of sacrifice, the chapter was recognized as associate members in the Spring of 2008. The following year we would continue the fight and complete our vision of being full members on the Unified Greek Council (UGC), now known as the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), at the University of South Florida.

Together Alpha Mu is more than a business based organization. It is a chapter that is deeply rooted in family values and strength within quality; not quantity. This home away from home not only teaches women to embrace who they are but really love themselves through culture and sisterly bonds. To the women that are here now and for those to come, the chapter warmly welcomes you with open arms.
